The Shepard Exec Board

(Updated for Winter Quarter 2010)

Trey Herr — President

The President is the official representative of Shepard and is ultimately responsible for the welfare of the college. He chairs the weekly Exec Board and SCC meetings.

Trey is an economics and vocal performance major from the great state of Massachusetts. He is a member of NROTC who enjoys discussing affairs of state, singing jazz, and of course, Shepard. When he's not sobbing over the lack of hills or forests here in Evanston, you can find Trey debating at Political Union, watching football or walking to SPAC. He adores pandas as well as polar bears, and rooms with the Tech Chair, whose picture is pretty awesome.

Katie Stevens — Vice President

The Vice President assists the President in running the college. She is responsible for planning New Student Week activities, scheduling the dorm’s public rooms, and maintaining Shepard's test files.

Katie is a sophomore in Weinberg with a minor in theatre but who has absolutely no idea what she is majoring in. She is from Saratoga, California and contrary to what you may think, doesn't hate Chicago's cold weather. Katie spends her time stage managing shows and procrastinating. She loves when people visit her room, especially since she will have a dingle next year and will get very lonely if no one's ever in there. Katie also loves eating avocodos with salt and a spoon.

Liz Nick — Academic Chair

The Academic Development Chair coordinates the dorm's weekly firesides and works to enhance the academic experiences of all Sheep.

Liz's major has an unfortunately long name - Human Development and Psychological Services - and she plans to counsel or teach kids someday. She misses the abundant cornfields of Ohio but loves Lake Michigan, Chicago, and Northwestern.

Ian Coley - Secretary

The Secretary writes and posts the weekly minutes from Shepard Exec Board and SCC meetings. The weekly minutes traditionaly are placed inside bathroom stalls throughout Shepard.

Ian is a freshman in Weinberg, majoring in Math (maybe). He hails from the hallowed shores of Columbus, Ohio, a place long shrouded in mystery. His hobbies include embarrassing himself on the piano, giving impromptu fascist speeches, and generally putting people ill at ease. Through his role as secretary, he hopes to avenge the death of his parents, who died in a bizarre but undeniably fatal typing accident.

Ariel Drehobl — Alumni Chair

The newly established Alumni Chair is responsible for researching past Shepard residents and traditions, as well as forming a network for current Sheep to connect with alumni.

Ariel is a sophomore from the sunny state of Florida and is still adjusting to the Chicago weather. She’s currently an undecided Weinberg student, leaning towards history or political science. Ariel is involved with activities at Hillel and involved with her sorority. She loves the shows Arrested Development and Sealab 2021 and her hero/love of her life is Peter Parker. She enjoys reading as many books as possible, going to musicals in Chicago, and stargazing by Lake Michigan (but only when it’s not deathly cold outside).

Ashley Bender — Membership Chair

Ashley is an undecided major and a global health minor from warm and sunny Orange County, California. She loves to play tennis and softball and eat ice cream, usually chocolate. She has two siblings, both younger. Ashley can’t sing or dance or do art, but enjoys going to shows all the time.

Katherine Dearing — Faculty Chair

The Faculty Chair is responsible for maintaining and coordinating interaction with Shepard’s faculty fellows. She coordinates the faculty liaisons program and other events, such as faculty lunches, Sunday night dinners, and faculty teas. She often works with the Academic Chair to plan firesides.

She enjoys trying to do way too many things at once as a member of a sorority (Kappa Delta), the women's music fraternity (Sigma Alpha Iota), Dance Marathon, Model United Nations, Philharmonia (the non-major orchestra on campus, and of course Shepard Government. Beware her obsessions with Jeopardy, Chuck, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Noah Mosberg — Social Chair

The Social Chairs organize social events for Shepard including weekly munchies, themed parties, and outings.

Noah Mosberg is a Mechanical Engineer from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Anne Wong — Philanthropy Chair

The Philanthropy Chair organizes philanthropy events for Shepard, and informs Sheep about volunteer opportunities on and off campus.

Anne is a Social Policy major and considering a double in History or maybe even a minor in Classics… who knows… her mind changes all the time. She comes from Chicago [the actual city, not the suburbs] and spends all of baseball season rooting for the White Sox despite now living in Cubs land central. She thrives in Shepard despite being one of the only residents who is not gifted with the talent of singing, dancing, acting, or playing some type of musical instrument. She is interested in all things involving SESP and saving the world. She loves reading, biking, baking, eating, and trying to convince others to volunteer just as much as she does.

Andy Blankshain — Tech Chair

The Tech Chair maintains the Shepard website, manages the listserv, and keeps the Shepard computer equipment running smoothly. He is available to help Sheep with their technical disasters.

Andy made the epic journey to Northwestern from the distant land of Wilmette and is double majoring in Physics and Computer Science. He is a diehard fan of Northwestern football and basketball and is the enemy of all haters.
